What We’ll Ask You At Your Eye Exam

Do you have an eye exam coming up in the near future? In order for us to make sure your exam is effective and productive, there are several things we will need from you.

Because eyes can be affected by seemingly unrelated changes to your health, you'll need to let us know about any changes you might be aware of. A few examples of conditions we should know about are pregnancy, diabetes, high blood pressure, and even something which may seem trivial, like allergies.

The more we are informed about your lifestyle, the better. For example, do you drink or smoke? Additionally, we will have a look at the way you actually use your eyes. Are you an artist who spends time focusing on fine details? Being aware of these facts can help us to figure out the solution to your vision problems.

And if you have any eye diseases effecting members of your family, it's important to tell us, because several of them are hereditary. Having an understanding of the eye diseases you may be susceptible to can make it much easier for us to look out for and monitor any red flags.

Give us a call if you notice anything strange about your eyes and vision including double vision, blurriness, flashes of light or spots. We'll then do our very best to figure out the root of the condition, and then recommend the most appropriate treatment. Remember to take your current pair of glasses along when you see us. Glasses give us information about your eyes, even if you're a contact lens wearer. Together, we will discover the most efficient way to resolve your eye needs.
